Vegetable Puff


Every time we eat this dish it takes us back to the olden golden days when the a puff pastry in the college canteen with friends used to define a good time. Even though now we have the luxury to enjoy a delicious meal at a five restaurant still those days are missed dearly.
Vegetable puff with filter coffee defines a perfect evening.

Ingredients:

  1. Potato: 1 medium cut into small cubes
  2. Green Peas: 1/4 cup
  3. Onion: 1 small finely chopped
  4. Green Chili:: 1-2 finely chopped
  5. Red Chilli Powder: 1 tsp
  6. Turmeric: 1 tsp 
  7. Lime Juice: 1 tsp(optional)
  8. Coriander Leaves: 1 tsp finely chopped
  9. Puff Sheets: 4
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Chat masala: 1 tbsp
  12. Chicken/Mutton Curry powder: 1 tbsp
  13. oil: 1tsp

Procedure:
In a pan heat the oil.
Add the chopped green chili and chopped onion.
Add a pinch of salt and as the onion gets translucent add cubed potato and green peas.
Add salt to taste, red chilli powder and turmeric powder and mix well, cover and cook till the potatoes are good through but not mushy.
Remove the cover,  add chicken/mutton curry powder stir well and cook till the potatoes are slightly crispy  and mix till all the masala is nicely cooked.
Let the mix cool down then add the lime juice and coriander leaves and mix well.
Let the spice mix cool down. and divide into 4 parts
Put one portion of the potato masala  on a puff sheet and close by joining the 2 corners. Before closing the corners wet the corners using some water.
Finish making all the puff and put it in the refrigerator of 4-5 mins
Bake it at 450 F for 15-20 mins.
you can see the puff sheet turning golden brown and thats when its all done.
Enjoy it with sweet chutney.

You can always increase the amount of filling and puff pastry sheets depending on how many people you want to entertain.
